Help!!

25 Feb

My son has stopped being a pillion rider. He has become a pillorying rider.

Each  section of the 5 km ride to school is analysed and commented upon. Each honk’s length is criticized . Each turn is dissected….

I am waiting for the time when I will sit behind him and get back my pound of flesh.I can’t glare or grumble at crazy drivers. THEY have his sympathy..whatever their blunders!

Teens …..age the parents .They banish the parents to’useless land’.

In my case this is just the beginning..

Just go in his room, find a mess he made and make him pay…he’ll get the hint. Maybe not today, but learning when to be quiet, no matter your opinion, is a learned behavior.

As adult, we all know that we cannot just go around saying whatever we think.

Well sis, i am already learning lessons from my yet to be 4 year daughter. She exclaimed the other day in her typical style “Appa Driver appa !!! Swalpa methige odsappa” when i had to break suddenly thanks to a local 2-wheeler Schumi :-).

I was surprised and started laughing out loud while continuing to drive.

hehe, i remember our 3yr old daughter’s words 6 months ago (so thats about when she was 2’ish). She recognized the turn that we turn into our complex. She was on her car seat at the back, and says to her mom –
“Mommy – go eekade (this way)”
    “Amma – we go straight”
    “Mommy – be careful ok!!”

this morning she tells me, “Daddy, drive safe. see you later” when she jumped into the car with her Mommy to go to her school.

so looks like kids have advanced a bit – so criticizing starts at toddler and not teen?

or perhaps, it depends on how we see it – whether kids are critizing or curious to learn more and know the reasons for the activities?

I think this is so common now and yes the kids of today are more observing and make all what is said above in post and comments.

My father used to do that to me when I was ‘learning’ how to drive. But these days I do the ‘talking’ when I go home! 😀
