The very word wapas makes me feel guilty.I know she feels more at home with her son-still I want her to stay with me longer.

Let her come back soon too.
I have always had this question about addressing elders in singular. Not even sure if its the closeness one share..!
An interesting article regarding the same, good one.. Read at ease.

Definitely Veena, In fact all of us at home call parents in singular, Amma Baa or Appa Baa, becos I personally feel aa athmeeyathe and baandhavya that exists between parents and children is lost if we try to say banni-hogi…and definetely my dad would hate it if I called him Banni-Hogi! 🙂
AMMA-nanage nannade aada extension-though biologically its the other way round
So ekavachana is perfect.
I use ekavachana for my ajji too.
My son uses it for his appa, amma and ajji.Infact he calls us by our names many times. We like it.
It is always disappointing to be away from one’s mother.
Life is like that.
We want something nice always which is not plausible.
Thanks for the visit,srinivas.Keep coming.
Veenaji,
I call my mama who is 40 years my.. senior by his name and in ekavachana!!
elru friendstaraha ideevi.
Nobody ever changed our ways.Aascharya alva?
Love and affection can not be affected by langauge!!
No way!
hmm… I have noticed this in many families…
I am not used to this one.. its not the age factor but I don’t know what…
Its the way we are used to, I think… sometime I address my younger brother as ‘yenaNNa en samachaara’, thats with affection.. May be I could relate it that way..
You’ve been blogrolled:)
Welcome to greatunknown’s blog!
